Call for Paper
We would be proud and pleased to invite you to Ali Efe the Nomad International Folk Culture Research Symposium which will be held between 28-30 November 2019 in Aydın with the cooperation of Aydın Adnan Menderes University, Aydın Governorship and Aydın Metropolitan Municipality.
The aim of our symposium is to provide continuity under the name of National Struggle Hero Ali Efe the Nomad, to investigate the concrete and intangible cultural heritage products of Aydın region, to record the data, to evaluate and to publish the results and to transfer the information from local to national and from national to universal culture. In this manner, folk culture researches of Aydın region and different folk culture research information will be evaluated and recorded in writing.
Our Symposium, which is structured on the basis of interdisciplinary cooperation and the nominated studies will be classified into two main sections as Aydın Region Studies and General Studies under the broad headings of Folk Culture. The nominated studies will be evaluated and be provided feedback to the applicants by the authorities from the relevant fields, such as Folklore, Music Sciences, Sociology, Anthropology, Literature, Art History, Archaeology, Linguistics, Education and the confirmed studies will be announced on the specified dates. The rough draft copies of which were confirmed studies should be issued to the symposium organizing committee before the symposium commences in order to be able to prepare the symposium program. One month after the symposium is completed, the full texts will be prepared in conformity with the spelling rules and the symposium texts will be printed. Candidates who would like to participate the symposium should submit their abstracts in Turkish and English to until the deadline on October 11, 2019
As the Symposium Organization Committee, our target is that symposium will be held continuously every year. In this symposium, we also aim to associate researchers who study on the Aydın region’s folklore and culture as well as to exchange the interdisciplinary knowledge and establish a cultural bridge from local to universal. It is also foreseen that this bridge will provide a basis for reconciliation on the rich background of folk culture and will reinforce the unity and solidarity of the society.
